Traminer

Its name probably comes from the village of Tramin in South Tyrol. In Hungary it is usually the Red Tramini and the Seasoned Tramini that are popular. Its wine is very characteristic of its sort, with some Muscat wine fragrance, in which flavour and scent resembling rose is dominant. Many sorts of wine can be made from it, from the very dry reductive type to the sweet ripened wines of late vintage. The most famous Tramini of the world is the Alsatian, which shows the strongest characteristics of its sort.
